Principal (Regular) Membership

Principal (Regular) Membership is open only to individuals who are owners, managers, or designated representatives of buildings primarily used as office buildings, but also including professional, medical, and institutional buildings in West Michigan; or individuals who are actively involved in related professions such as commercial real estate development, appraisal, real estate brokerage, lending, legal, engineering, architecture and public accounting. Candidates for membership must be sponsored by a Principal Member of the local chapter and also must be endorsed by two other Principal Members.

Annual dues for this class of membership are $475 which includes lunch at 9 monthly membership meetings, summer outing, holiday luncheon, and access to the BOMA West Michigan Office Building Occupancy Survey. Principal (Regular) Members have the right to vote on any matter brought before the membership and may hold office.

Associate (Vendor) Membership

Associate (Vendor) Membership is open only to persons who are vendors or contractors of building supplies or services and who do not otherwise qualify for Principal (Regular) Membership status. Membership vests in the representative, not the company. Members must own or have management authority over the business or office serving the West Michigan area. Candidates for Associate Membership must be sponsored by a Principal Member of the local chapter and also must be endorsed by two other Principal Members.

Annual dues for this class of membership are $675, which includes lunch at 9 monthly membership meetings, the summer outing and holiday luncheon. Associate (Vendor) Members have the right to vote on any matter brought before the membership, but may not hold office.

Emeritus Membership

Emeritus Membership is open only to persons who satisfy each of the following requirements:

  • The person must have been a Principal (Regular) Member in good standing for a minimum of ten (10) continuous years.
  • Must be 62 years of age or older.
  • Must be at least partly retired from any of the businesses that qualify for Principal (Regular) Membership. The Board of Directors may waive any of the qualifications for Emeritus Membership in the Board's sole discretion. Emeritus Members do not pay dues, but may be required to pay for lunch at meetings attended. Emeritus Members have no voting rights and may not hold office.
