General Membership Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month. We have a limited number of sponsorship opportunities available that offer your company many benefits and lots of exposure. If you and your company are interested in sponsoring an event or meeting, e-mail us at meetings@bomawm.org. RSVP: Reserve your place with Peggy Rykse by May 9, 2008 Recent Past Events: April Meeting (4-09-2008) BOMA visited the new Grand Rapids Art Museum, learned about the GREEN aspects of the design and toured the museum, including the Warhol exhibit. March Meeting (3-12-2008) BOMA visited the River House tower project, enjoyed a catered lunch while we heard an informational presentation from the River House sales staff. Then we toured through a model condo unit, and had an exciting tour of the under-construction tower. The views are incredible. Did you know the top floors can see all the way to Lake Michigan? February Meeting (2-13-2008) In what is becoming an annual event for our chapter, we had Janet Langlois from BOMA Detroit speak to us about the political advocacy underway on behalf of BOMA both in Lansing and in Washington. January Meeting (1-09-2008) We had an excellent double tour - first a look at the unique new student housing at Hopson Flats and then a brewery tour at Founders Brewery across the street. It was an interesting look at a new way of life for college kids and an in-depth look at the a highly successful local company and microbrewery.
December Meeting (12-13-2007) Our chapter met at Cascade Engineering and toured the newly certified LEED-EB Platinum building on the company campus. In addition to learning about their innovative renovation, we all learned more about LEED and the certification process.November Meeting (11-14-2007) BOMA heard George Aquino, General Manager of the JW Marriott speak about the new hotel downtown. Afterward, we were given a tour of the amazing new facility. October Meeting (10-10-2007) We had an excellent mexican buffet meal at the Radisson. During our lunch, we heard a great presentation by Doug Van Der Aa, describing the features of the new Michigan Business Tax and the challenges the real estate industry will face because of it.
